Music, or no Music...THAT is the question!

I just can't decide....Do I pu t music on my blog, or not. (I have jucier posts coming soon, including Jess's birthday, and a give-away celebrating 6 months in bloggy land, so stay tuned!) The thing is that I think I get a better glimpse into people's personalities by the music they listen to. I love to (as my friends call it) Shannalize. There is not a dang thing wrong with that! It is fascinating to me to see what music people like. Sometimes it is very predictable, but sometimes...not so much. I want people to hear what I like, and I Like to hear what other people like. I am sure I am pretty predictable. Also, sometimes it is annoying to go on someone's blog to have music blasting at you. It is sometimes hard to concentrate. Maybe it is just me...and of course that is None of you. And that is easily remedied. I can turn it off if I want, which is Not all of the time. So what to do, what to do. Why do you, or do you not have music, and what do you think?!

I don't like when I visit a blog and the music starts playing automatically and I don't know where it is coming from and I can't find it. Sooooo, IMO if you are going to put music on it should be optional for the visitor to have it play :)

I do think a persons music choices tell a lot about who they are though!

I like music on people's websites. It tells you something more about them I think. That being said, Joey HATES it and swears we'll never have it on ours...

Nay for me.

I've put a song or two on a few times, but then I think, Why did I do that? I'm not a fan of music on other people's blogs... So then I take it down. There's nothing worse than sitting down at the computer at midnight to catch up with blogs, and have music start blaring! Plus, I know a few people who check my blog do so from work. They can't have music going or their boss will catch them misusing company time! Heh heh.

On the other hand, a blog is like a web page to display someone's personality, right? So why not have your handpicked music that you listen to on a daily basis? It's just one more way for people to get to know you better.

To end my HUGE novel of a comment, music doesn't make or break it for me. I'll still visit someone's blog if they have music on it, I'm just not a fan of putting it on mine :)

You can just say it....you HATE my music, don't you! The songs on my blog play list have sentimental value to me and my little fam.
With that being said, I do understand the frenzied feeling of having music unrepentantly blare at you...when this happens, take a deep breath, find the volume button or simply click on the sound icon until your heartbeat slows and you can regain concentration....that way everyone is happy!;)
Okay, now that I'm done being a smart alec, I just wanted to say...I love that the blog world has increased our lines of communication! And, I miss the heck out of ya! I too REALLY hope we can see each other soon!
Love ya, Cort

Yes, it can get annoying, but I just hit the mute button on my keyboard and it solves the problem. I've been meaning to change my songs around so the first one isnt so annoying. I think if its a softer song then it's not that bad. Just put it on and see if you like it! So good luck with that decision. =) How is your back BTW??

I agree. Sometimes music is annoying but you just stop the playlist or turn the sound off. I think your right, music does tell alot about a person's personality. I say go for it!!

No music! The music is always louder than my screen reader, and it makes it very difficult to read the words of a blogger, which tell a whole lot more about a person than the music does. ;)

Hey, you took off the visual verification feature! Yay! Haha, written by part of the rarely-silent, rather vocal minority! xoxo

Thanks for the comments--Jenna is there a way to put music on without it automatically start playing? And Bonnie, I did that just for you! :)

Thank you, Shanna!

Shanna, I'm not a fan of it. I tend to click through people's blog's quickly. If they don't have a new post I move on....if they have music it takes to long to down load the page and I can't move on fast enough. It's like I'm being held hostage!! HAHA! anyway, I usually have the speakers off, because I can't stand it if there is any other noise going on, (like any sort of clicking), other than music! sorry this is so long

I finally broke down and put music on my blog, but I will admit, sometimes it totally bothers me and I turn it off and other times I like it. It all depends on my mood. I chose to put my playlist at the top of my blog so it would be easy for people to change songs or turn it off.

The ABBA song Fernando reminds me of you and I singing it in your kitchen back in Rexburg. So if you add music, please add that song!

I personally like music. It sounds like I'm the only one, though. It's really simple. If you don't want to listen to music, just turn down your speakers. Then everyone will be happy!

I TOTALLY think you should put music on your blog, Shanna. And since I am obviously your favorite niece, you should just listen to me, and ignore all these other people! ;D
